NGO organises mid-term skill competition

Larkana: DESSI International, a non-profitable organization which is in the special consultative status with the United Nations ECOSOC since 2017 and registered with the STEVTA, has organized Mid-Term Skill Competition on the instructions of Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema, Executive Director National Vocational and Technical Training Commission. (NAVTTC) in the Beautician and Fashion Designing trades under the ongoing Prime Minster Youth Skill Development Program of NAVTTC (Phase IV, Batch II) at Larkana.

Irfanullah Abbasi, Regional Deputy Director of NAVTTC; Imtiaz Ahmed Chief Executive of DESSI International; Sofia Rasheed, Beautician Expert; Aimen Baloch, Fashion Designer and others have participated in the event.

Make-Up Models have been made in the Beautician trade and different attractive frock designs have been sketched and tailored in the Fashion Designing trade during the competition. Regional Deputy Director of NAVTTC distributed Cash Prizes, Award Shields and Certificates among the position holders Shumaila Begum, Gul Naz, Bano Bibi, Shahida Shaikh, Mariam and Nabeela.

Hannan; Chairperson of DESSI International, addressed in the event and said that skilled women feel encouraged and enthusiastic after participation in the Skill Competitions. Unemployed skilled and semi-skilled women can start their entrepreneurship though the help of computers and internet in establishing their own identity and showcase their skills. Skilled women can work and earn with respect directly from their homes on the self-help technical basis (handmade and applique items) in introducing their diverse marked demanded skills-set. Besides, after completion of NAVTTC training, they easily can establish small beauty parlour and clothing sewing place at their homes and earn attractive amount in their neighbourhood.

She appreciated the NAVTTC and BBSYDP like identical programs which provide FREE training with Stipends to young unemployed women. Such trainings provide practical learning skills and ideas and after completing, skilled graduated women can earn reasonable income with respectable place in the society.
