No-confidence motion moved against Dadu’s UC Sial chief

DADU, Sindh:Vice Chairman and Councilors, accompanied by citizens, held a protest demonstration outside Dadu Press Club on Thursday against Dadu’s Union Council (UC) Sial chairman Aqeel Ahmed Panhwar. Five councilors and vice chairman also handed over a non-confidence motion to Deputy Director Local government against the UC chairman.

The protesters, including UC Sial Vice Chairman Mohammad Khan Lashari, councilor Zameer Ahmed Chandio, Sher Mohammad Mastoi and Abdul Ghafoor Macchi, demonstrated outside the press club. They also staged a sit-in there for some time.

The demonstrators, carrying placards and banners, were chanting slogans against the UC chairman for not utilizing full funds of the council for the welfare of people.

They strongly condemned the attitude of the UC chairman toward the plight of local people. The leaders said:”Rs 500,000 are being provided to the UC every month, but sewing machines, solar panels, water taps and fans are not being provided to the poor people despite the Sindh government had directed the UC Chairman to do so.

They said that Secretary Local Government Sindh had removed UC Sial Secretary Sarwar Leghari due to corruption a month ago while the UC Sial Chairman was not giving NOC to newly appointed UC Secretary Altaf Solangi, which showed indifferent attitude.

They alleged that the UC Chairman was committing corruption in connivance with the Deputy Director Local Government. They demanded of the NAB and other authorities to tight noose around the UC chairman and conduct probe against the corruption of UC Sial chairman.
