Opinion Poll: (63% Pakistanis favor private schools right to operate alongside govt schools: Poll)

ISLAMABAD: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 63% Pakistanis favor private schools right to operate alongside government schools, 35% believe all schools should be run by the government.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Nowadays, many private schools are running in the country.

Do you think private schools should be given permission to run or should all schools be run by the government?” Responding to this, 63% of respondents said private schools should be given permission to run and 35% said all schools should be run by the government. However, 2% did not respond.

Question: “Nowadays, many private schools are running in the country. Do you think private schools should be given permission to run or should all schools be run by the government?”

The study was released by Gilani Research Foundation and carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.

The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 1690 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, December 10- December 16, 2017. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
