Order to reopen 460 closed schools in Mirpurkhas

Mirpurkhas, Sindh: Deputy Commissioner Mirpurkhas and chairman district reforms oversight committee Zahid Hussain Memon has ordered taking urgent steps to get 460 closed primary schools in the district reopened.

Addressing a meeting of the committee in his office here Wednesday, he said there are some surplus teachers in some schools of the districts who should be posted to the closed schools for ensuring their reopening. He said facilities of drinking water and washrooms should be made available to all schools.

The meeting was told that the number of primary schools in district Mirpurkhas is 1973 and of them 460 schools are closed, which need to made functional as soon as possible.

The meeting was further told that in district Mirpurkhas the government has decided to upgrade 11 schools as ‘model schools’.

Separately, three persons were injured when a car overturned while saving a biker at Mirpurkhas toll plaza.

The injured, Ms Sooni Bai, Nirmal Das, and driver Nadeem were rushed to the Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas for treatment.
