Parkinson’s disease awareness programs on Feb 14

KARACHI: Neurology Awareness & Research Foundation (NARF) and Movement Disorders Society Pakistan (MDSP) have produced a series of video programs about Parkinson’s disease for public awareness.

A ceremony to launch this series of video awareness program on CD will be held on February 14, 2018 here at a local hotel. Event will be addressed by President NARF Prof Muhammad Wasay, Founder World Parkinson’s Program Canada Dr Abdul Qayyum Rana, Dr Syed Asad Abbas, President MSDP Dr Nadir Ali Syed and Dr. Abdul Malik.

In a statement, General Secretary NARF Dr Abdul Malik told that this CD will help Parkinson patients and general public as well to know about this disease and help its patient live a better life. These video programs are hosted by neurologists Dr Aziz Sonawala, Dr Muhammad Wasay, he himself and include interviews of senior health experts from the field of neurology, brain, psychiatry, rehab and nutrition.

Health experts who are interviewed in these programs include Dr Jamil Sarwar Siddiqi, Dr Farukh Shahab Khan, Dr Muhammad Wasay, Dr Nadir Ali Syed, Dr Muhammad Nasrullah, Dr Naila Shahbaz, Dr Arif Hereker and Muhammad Hassan.

Dr Abdul Malik informed that NARF has already produced such five programs about epilepsy, multiple sclerosis for public awareness and same is also posted on YouTube NARF channel.
