Pharmacists stage protest for fast, transparent registration

KARACHI: Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA) Sindh, on Tuesday staged protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club against Pharmacy Council of Sindh for slow registration of pharmacists.

The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with different slogans like transparent registration process of pharmacists, permanent appointment of secretary of pharmacy council, withdrawal of illegal fee hike for registration process and others.

The protesters said PPA Sindh delegation held several meeting with Additional Secretary Health in past to address their grievances but no positive response has been received from him despite the lapse of several months therefore PPA Sindh organised protest demonstration on World Pharmacists Day.

They demanded of the Sindh government to ensure fast and transparent registration of pharmacists from Pharmacy Council of Sindh, register pharmacists of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) and Shah Abdul University Khairpur, audit of accounts of pharmacy council, permanent appointment of secretary pharmacy council and withdrawal of fee hike in registration.
