PM:(Regular dialogue b/w Pak-US continues at all levels: PM)

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi says regular dialogue between Pakistan and the United States continues at all levels.

He was responding to a question in an interview. To a question about Indian army chief’s recent statement about Pakistan, the Prime Minister said India might have several objectives, but it should realize the situation along the Line of Control.

Ruling out any prospects of war, he said both the countries should avoid escalation. There are no threats of war. It might be a political gimmick on their part.

He said Pakistan has never indulged in unilateral actions. It always stood for dialogue but it should be based on respect and without compromising on the core issue Jammu and Kashmir.

About Afghanistan issue, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has always been supportive of an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned solution. The world, including Pakistan, can only play the role of a facilitator.

He urged the world to help in repatriation of about three million Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

To another question, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said PML-N will contest the next general election on the basis of its five-year best performance and unprecedented development work.

He said the next general election will be held in July 2018. All political parties want continuation of democracy in the country.
