KARACHI:Police arrested a suspected robber in injured condition during an alleged encounter in Gulshan-e-Jamal area of the metropolis on Wednesday.
According to police, two suspected robbers were busy attempting robbery on Rashid Minhas Road near Dalmia bus stop, receiving information a police team reached at the scene. Seeing police the robbers opened fire on police and tried to escape. In exchange of firing, a 26-year-old robber, Anwar son of Raza, sustained bullet injuries and was arrested by police. However, his accomplice managed to escape from the scene.
The arrested accused was stated to be involved in several cases of robberies and habitual criminal. Police also claimed to have recovered a TT pistol with rounds, cash and snatched mobile phones from his possession. The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
