UMERKOT: Owing to efforts of PPP Sindh Assembly Member Rana Hameer Singh Sodo, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved Thar Land Policy to give land rights to the poor residents of Thar. The committee has approved the formulation of the policy. The notification has also been issued.
Singh says that there is water in Tharparkar district for two and a half centuries. A comprehensive plan is needed for the development and prosperity of Tharparkar. Tharparkar is spread over an area of about 25,000 square miles.
Syed Murad Ali Shah issued instructions to the Provincial Minister for Revenue Department on which a high level committee meeting will be held, which will be chaired by Provincial Minister for Revenue. Thar Land Grant Steering Committee will soon work and present its recommendations and report to the Chief Minister and the Sindh Cabinet.
