Karachi: Fake and staged encounters in Sindh including Karachi are the result of politicizing of Sindh police and the provincial government is not interested in bringing serious police reforms, said Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) central spokesman FawadChaudhry here Saturday.
Speaking to media at the residence of PTI Sindh leader HaleemAdil Sheikh he said NaqeebullahMehsud was kidnapped and killed by a hooligan, donning the uniform of Sindh police. He said the police in Sindh have become politicized and it has failed to provide safety of life and property of citizens. He said in fact the PPP and PML-N are the two faces of same base coin and they have failed to serve the masses.
He said the provincial government of Sindh has been paying Rs2.5billion every year to the rangers for maintaining law and order; however, the provincial government has failed to bring any meaningful police reforms. He said these rulers want to indulge in their politics of vested interests by recruiting lawbreakers and hooligans in the police force.
He said in past the police of the KpK was same as the Sindh police, but now the PTI government has transformed it into a professional police force and it is counted amongst the best polices of the world. He said we have ended corruption in the police department and changed the whole scenario in the KpK province.
FawadChaudhry said had the government of Sindh showed sincerity it would have spent Rs2.5billion every year on its police force to make it a professional force. He said the Sindh government has failed to make its police department fully efficient and functional. He alleged that political recruitments in Sindh police are main factor behind rampant corruption and inefficiency in this department. He charged that in fact from the lower to the upper level every sector of the Sindh government represents the corruption mafia. He said this is why the corruption is on the rise in this province.
He opined that the role of Zardari in Senate election is not for promoting democracy but to secure his vested interests. He charged Nawaz was involved in Rs300bn corruption but he is asking why he was ousted.
He said two fake cases were lodged against PTI Sindh leader HaleemAdil because he raised voice for the rights of downtrodden people and upholding justice. He said Imran Khan is reaching Karachi tomorrow for his two-day visit and soon rallies would be held in whole Sindh. He said the Larkana rally is not cancelled but only postponed and its new date would be announced soon.
KpK assembly speaker Asad Kaiser on the occasion said that we will leave the people of Karachi alone. He said we will play our role so that the bereaved families of Naqeeb and other victims of staged encounters get justice. He said the KpK assembly has already passed a resolution against the killing of Naqeeb and demanded to expose the faces of this killing mafia. He said we have condoled with the families of Naqeeb, Intizar and Maqsood and provide them all-out help.
He said we have already made KpK police a non-political police force and there is peace in this province. He said we will not tolerate the law of jungle in our country. He said that stern action should be taken against Rao Anwar and his team and security and safety of life be provided to innocent people.
HaleemAdil Sheikh said the police are involved in the staged encounters and the police are also probing these fake encounter cases. He said we would make accountable the killers of Naqeeb, Intizar, Maqsood and other victims. He said serving the masses and uphold of law is the manifesto of the PTI.
On the occasion, HaleemAdil presented Ajraks to the guests including PMA DrHaider, ShakuatYusufzai, ZarGul Khan and others. PTI leaders Imran Ismail, Faisal Vawda, IftikharSoomro and other PTI leaders were present.
