LARKANA:The employees of Population Welfare Department held a protest demonstration at Jinnah Bagh here on Tuesday for acceptance of their demands.
They were led by Peeral Dayo and joined by Tariq Bhutto, Sharafat Abro, Rizwan Surhio, Irshad Mughal and Salman Soomro. While sharing their views with the newsmen, they said that all were talking now to control increased birth rate in the country but allocated funds had been digested by ministers, CIP projects, NGOs and allegations were then leveled against employees that they were not working properly.
They said there was time when employees were beaten up by the residents in the name of Islamic country but now after motivation and massive awareness made by the employees, all were ready to control birth.
They said they had planted a sapling which had become a huge tree now, but all wanted to cut it by embezzling its funds. They alleged that condition of health department in Sindh was worst because its funds were looted. They demanded that decision to send lady workers of their department to health department should be withdrawn and services of all contract employees from 2009 to 2012 must also be regularized or else, they warned, they will enlarge the scope of their protest for which only Sindh rulers should be held responsible.
