Protest against power outages in Naundero Rally staged, protest camp set up by several parties

NAUNDERO:Protest held against prolonged electricity load shedding in Naudero on Saturday. The SEPCO has put entire town on single feeder and is sending extra detection bills to the consumers. The protesters have established a camp outside the office of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Sepco, Naundero.

The protest was joined by all political and non-political parties, except ruling PPP. The activists of PPP=SB took out a large rally here on Saturday which was participated by Akbar Mangrio, Nisar Mirani, Akhtiyar Ali and others which started marching from Allahwala roundabout and culminated in the main protest camp. They were holding placards in their hands and chanted slogans in favour of their demands.

The marchers and protesters while talking to media said that no elected representative or Sepco officer has yet approached them despite passage of five long fasting days in this scorching heat due to which unrest is widely felt among the protesters and residents.

They said if this struggle continued even for a month they will not be tired and continue it for seeking their basic rights. They said that extra detection bills are still being sent and charged from the meter-holders which is unjust and must be stopped. They said that outage schedule has been announced for City Feeder-1 for seven hours daily out of 24 but grid station officials are committing more than nine hours load shedding daily which is daring violation of standing orders of load management issued by Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) on May 4, 2019 for which they should be taken to task. They demanded end of sending extra detection bills and withdrawal of such bills already sent to the consumers.

They also demanded putting entire town on single feeder and zero load shedding is being made on feeder-2 and feeder-1 is facing massive outage which has created a sense of discrimination among the residents. Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Javed Bhutto, Salim Channa, Mushtaque Kunbhar, Sahab Khan Shaikh and others were also present in the camp.
