Protest against stoppage of salaries

LARKANA: The employees posted at 26 water filter plants have complained that they have not yet been paid their monthly salaries for long.

Employees including Abdul Fatah Laghari, Gulsher Junejo, Wazir Ali Bhutto and others staged a protest at Jinnah Bagh and demanded for payment of their outstanding dues.

They said these plants were installed during Musharraf government period in Ratodero, Bosan, Banguldero, Larkana and other areas where these employees were also posted to run them.

They said that the government had announced to handover these plants to Sindh’s Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) but this decision is yet to be implemented.

They said that only two employees at Bosan village plant and an engineer are paid salaries directly from Islamabad regularly while other employees are not getting dues.

They said due to mismanagement these plants are either dysfunctional or occupied by land mafia and hence they are not functioning to provide clean water to villahers.

The asked the federal government to clear their dues before Eid and also hand over these plants to PHED to serve citizens.
