Badin:A large number of citizens under the banner of Save District Badin Committee protested against acute shortage of drinking and irrigation water here on Sunday.
The protestors marched on foot from Badin to Kudhan town after holding a demo in front of the Badin Press Club.
They were warmly welcomed by villagers on the route of their march. Citizens of Kudhan also observed a shutter down strike against the water shortage to show solidarity with the protestors.
Addressing the protestors, Azizullah Dahro, Mir Noor Ahmed Talpur and others said today the protestors marched on foot for 20 miles to reach Kudhan from Badin. They said despite continuous protest of residents of Badin the government is not taking steps to mitigate water shortage.
They said if their problem was not resolved they would also hold protest rallies and sit-ins in Hyderabad and Karachi.
