Protest continues against massive power outage in Naundero

NAUNDERO:Protest against prolonged electricity load shedding and putting entire town on single feeder continued for fourth consecutive day here on Friday.

The protesters established a camp outside the office of Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO), Sepco, Naundero. The protest is joined by all political and non-political parties, except ruling PPP.

Tahreek Nifaz Fiqa-e-Jafferia took out a large rally here on Friday which was participated by Mumtaz Sethar, Wahid Bux Thahim, Aftab Bhutto, Ashique Mangi and others which started marching from Allahwala roundabout and culminated in the main protest camp.

The marchers and protesters while talking to media said that no elected representative or Sepco officer had so far approached them despite passage of four long fasting days in this scorching heat.

They said if this struggle continued even for a month, they will not be tired and continue it for seeking their basic rights. They said that it has been decided now that they will daily burn the effigy of Sepco officers and elected representatives. They said that extra detection bills are still being sent and charged from the meter-holders which is unjust and must be stopped.

They said that outage schedule has been announced for City Feeder-1 for seven hours daily out of 24 but grid station officials are committing more than nine hours load shedding daily which is daring violation of standing orders of load management issued by Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) on May 4, 2019 for which they should be taken to task.
