Protesting doctors end hunger strike

Karachi: A meeting of doctors with Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan and DC South was held at Commissioner House Karachi to seek compliance the orders of the Supreme Court by the Sindh Government regarding the promotions of the doctors.

Commissioner Karachi assured the doctors that he will talk to the Chief Minister to resolve this issue.

After this meeting on the request of the PMA secretary general Dr. S.M. Qaisar Sajjad, the doctors of Sindh have ended their hunger strike. It was done so due to the deteriorating of the health conditions of the senior doctors on hunger strike.

Two doctors on strike have already been admitted to hospital and Dr. Usman Mako’s medical condition is also not satisfactory, says a PMA release.
