PRs (Four new passenger trains to be introduced soon: Sheikh Rashid)

Lahore:Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that four new passenger trains will be run very soon to facilitate those areas where road network was not good.

Addressing a news conference at the Railways Headquarters on Saturday, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the Thal Express between Rawalpindi and Multan on Tuesday besides opening the tracking system in the trains.

He said that trackers are also being installed, which will show the location of the train.

He said that freight train section has been shifted to Karachi from Lahore.

The Minister said that first VVIP ‘Jinnah Express’ train will run on 30th of next month from Lahore to Karachi. Likewise, another VVIP train ‘Sir Syed Express’ will be started soon.

He said that Railways recovered an amount of sixty million rupees from the passengers traveling without tickets.

Sheikh Rashid said that Railways generated an income of more than two billion rupees from passengers trains.

He said that the stations of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Peshawar and Hyderabad will be renovated this year.

He also directed all divisional superintendents to ensure clean and green campaign.
