KARACHI:On the directives of Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) Director General Abdul Aleem Memon, a PSQCA team launched a crackdown against illegal and substandard products of bottled water units and RO plants and seized nine of them on the spot.
In Karachi, a PSQCA team raided nine bottled water units and RO plants and seized them due to manufacturing illegal and substandard products and having no certification.
The PSQCA team seized their licenses and total stock on the spot. They included safe life water brand of Safe Life Water, a RO plant, different brands of Aqua Fine + Premium Drinking Water, aqua 24 and aqua 76 brands of Asim and Qasim Enterprises and Faris brand of Faras Mineral Water in Gulistan-e-Johar. It also seized hydronium brand of Hydronium Water in Gulzar-e-Hijri, dropice brand of Pure Drinking Water in Mosimiyat area, Qaswa Water Brand at shop No.06 near Dow Hospital and ozone brand of Ozone Healthy Water in Garden.
These units were involved in illegal manufacturing, stocking and selling bottled drinking water and therefore, were seized as per law, PSQCA said today.
The PSQCA Director General said that surveillance team were striving to trace substandard products and illegal manufacturers of bottled water. Strict action will be taken against the companies found preparing substandard water, he added.
