AhmedpurEast:Federal Minister for Housing and Works, PML (Q) Central General Secretary Tariq Bashir Cheema has said that we would not accept the merger of Bahawalpur division in proposed South Punjab province.
Addressing a big public meeting, he said in past the citizens of Bahawalpur division were neglected after merger of the state in One Unit in 1954. He demanded to hold referendum in Bahawalpur division on this issue.
He announced to convene a big conference of all stakeholders in Bahawalpur under the patronage of Amir of Bahawalpur Salahuddin Abbasi to press their old demand of Bahawalpur province demand.
