RAC pays tremendous tribute to APS martyrs

RAWALPINDI:A tremendous tribute was paid to the martyrs of Army Public School, Peshawar through a walk followed by a stage play written and directed by Naheed Manzoor at a ceremony held under auspices of Rawalpindi Arts Council and Nemat Foundation.

Member National Assembly and Parliamentary Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Akram was chief guest. Addressing the occasion, MNA Wajiha Akram said that Army Public School incident had united the whole nation, adding every child of Pakistan is commander and leader of the country.

She said that in 16th December 1971, Pakistan was divided in two parts and on 16th December 2014, same treason was tried to get occur again. She said that it was need of the time to recognize the enemy who is using our own people to sabotage the country. Wajiha Akram said that it was such kind of incident who melancholies the whole world. A stage play “Khak-e-Nasheman” written and directed by Naheed Manzoor was also presented to show solidarity with the parents of APS martyrs. Naheed Manzoor said that APS incident was a tragedy. Brig (R) Agha Hassan that sacrifices of the armed forces was survival of the country. Shakil Ahmed Chohan, Ch Shahbaz, Dr Amir Hanif, Mahi Sheikh, Dr Ahmed and other also spoke on the occasion. Candle vigil was arranged to pay tribute to APS martyrs. Director RAC thanked the distinguished guests at the end of ceremony.
