Religious scholar, anchor Amir Liaquat Hussain joins PTI

Karachi: Noted religious scholar and TV anchor Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain here Monday joined the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI).

Noted actor Abid Ali also joined the PTI. Addressing jointly with them to media, PTI Chairman Imran Khan welcomed them in the party. He said we have already brought revolutionary changes in the KpK and now we want that the people of Sindh should also give us a chance to serve them.

However, PTI Chairman Imran Khan spent a busy day in Karachi on the second day of his visit to the megacity. He met with different delegations of party workers, traders and transporters and participated in various programs.

Addressing the members of FB Area traders and industrialists, he said today the sad state of affairs in the country is due to the negative politics. He said some people come to political field to get personal benefits at the cost of the national institutions. He said the uplift of the nation is linked to the strengthening of institutions.

He said 22 years ago he had began his politics and from the day one he wanted to invite the people of good character to his party. He said in Pakistan its politics versus mafia. He said in the UK even their prime minister had gave an explanation on the Panama Leaks.

Talking about the megacity, he said in Karachi the situation was quite bad in previous years. He said then people were afraid and were not supporting us due to this fear. He said if you are not corrupt, yourself, nobody in your party could indulge in corruption. He said for the first time in the history we caught our minister in corruption and put him in jail.

He said the hardest part of the job is to reform police. He said the two brothers have been in politics for 20 years but they have still not reformed the Punjab police. He said the police in the KpK are the best police, adding we have not used our institutions for political vendetta.

He said businessmen want safety and security. He said we will bring reforms in FBR and other institutions.

He said the developed countries have attained progress due to better local governments. He said we will also reform the local government sector. He said the city mayor should be elected directly through vote of people. He said the Thana system in the megacity, Karachi, should be improved. He said Pakistan would not prosper until Karachi is developed on modern lines

He said the condition of KpK hospitals is better now and doctors from other areas now come to work in these hospitals. He invited the president of FB Area Association of Trade and Industry Babar Khan to join the PTI.

FB Area Association of Trade and Industry President Babar Khan, in his address, said the struggle of Imran Khan to improve the economy is praiseworthy. He said traders and industrialists of Karachi are worried about the wrong policies of government and there business is getting losses. He said Imran Khan has already provided guidance to the youth and we want that he should also help us in resolving our problems. He asked the PTI to add the betterment of industries sector in its manifesto. He said Imran Khan is a powerful symbol of struggle against corruption and he is the last hope of youth.

On the occasion, PTI Sindh president Dr Arif Alvi, Imran Ismail, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Ali Zaidi, Firdous Shamim, Khuram Sherzaman and other leaders were also present.

Imran Khan also met the transporter community in Korangi and discussed with them on the problems faced by the community.
