Remand extended of Gwadar corruption case accused

QUETTA:Nazeer Ahmed Baloch, Judge of Accountability Court-II extended remand for 7 days to the accused Mehboob Dashti, Managing Director, GIEDA and Waqas Ahmed, General Manager, Finance in connection with mega corruption in Gwadar Industrial and Development Authority (GIEDA) arrested in connection with mega corruption case of Gwadar Industrial Estate and Development Authority (GIEDA).

The previous day when both the accused officers of GIEDA were presented before the judge of Accountability Court-II, Special Prosecutor of NAB Rashid Zaib Golra requested the court for extension in remand, whereupon the judge extended remand for 7 days.

It is worth mentioning that the accused officers of GIEDA had violated all the rules and regulations by allotting plots to relatives, friends and irrelevant persons through unlawful way. The accused had not only amassed millions of rupees but had also brought havoc to the government exchequer. According to NAB sources, the arrested accused had even allotted plots to the servants and drivers who later told NAB authorities that they had not even applied for allotment of plots in GIEDA project.

Plots had also been allotted through fake Computerized National Identity Cards. There is possibility of more arrest in the mega corruption case.
