KARACHI: On the direction of the Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department and Parliamentary Affairs and Food, the road checking campaign for tax collection from tax defaulting vehicles in Karachi has come to an end. The road checking campaign continued from November 22 to November 25.
During this campaign a total of 6837 vehicles were checked in Karachi and documents of 926 vehicles were seized for various reasons while Rs. 2169852 was collected from the owners of these vehicles.
Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Department and Parliamentary Affairs and Food Mukesh Kumar Chawla lauded the performance of the officers and staff of the Excise and Taxation Department in conducting a successful road checking campaign and hoped that owners of the tax defaulting will soon contact their respective excise and taxation offices to deposit their due taxes. He said that soon in the second phase road checking campaign would be started in other districts of Sindh also for recovery of tax from tax defaulting vehicles.
