Sandeman Hospital Quetta cancels security contract

Quetta:Owing to poor security situation at Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta, a contract signed with the private security agency “Bonds” was cancelled while 9 sweepers were sacked on account of willful absence from duty.

Dr Muhammad Saleem Abro, Medical Superintendent, Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta said that about Rs1.8mn were being paid to 68 security personnel while actually only a few personnel were performing their duties. He said that the services of professional security agency would be hired and for the purpose a tender would be floated in newspapers.

He further said that reforms would be introduced so as to make Civil Hospital as an exemplary hospital. He said that stern action would be taken against those employees who show negligence in performing their duties. He said that business community of Quetta city used to use the premises of Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta for parking their private cars and owing to the reason patients confronted hardships.
