Service lane of University Road still uncompleted

Karachi:A Service lane on Main University Road is yet to be constructed despite passage of five years, though on papers the project is completed and inaugurated.

The service road from the main gate of University of Karachi to the colony gate of University of Karachi/PSO petrol pump is yet to be constructed. This abandoned service road is now covered with wild bushes and has become a hangout of drug addicts and anti-criminal elements.

Strangely, the project on the University Road on paper has already been completed and also formally inaugurated by none other but Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Sources said that the contractor has also been paid but this about one and half kilometer long service road is yet to be constructed.

Thousands of students and teachers of the University of Karachi are the direct sufferers due to non-construction of the service road along with their campus. They have appealed to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take notice of bungling in the University Road project which is amongst the costliest road projects of the megacity, Karachi.
