LARKANA: A Shahar-e-Benazir Festival was inaugurated by Commissioner, Larkana Division, Mohammad Abbas Baloch, at Khuhro Sports Complex here on Thursday along with fourth Junior Games.
This colourful event was kicked off with freeing of pigeons followed by a very splendid parade of male and female students.
Baloch in his address said that great leaders have been given by Larkana district including Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. He said the festival will be long remembered.
He said several events of games will be held in the festival that will continue for 11 days.
Citizens of Larkana were invited by Larkana mayor Aslam Shaikh to visit the festival along with the families as tight security arrangements were made.
Aslam Shaikh said that cultural, literary, musical and other programs have been arranged in the event.
Deputy Commissioner Kashif Ali Tipu said that this festival has been arranged with the cooperation of Sindh Government, Sports and Youth Affairs, Culture and other Departments.
