SHCC forms task force to review laboratory standards

KARACHI:Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) has organized a meeting for review of laboratories standards and also constituted an 11-member task force to check standards of lab operating across the Sindh province.

Chief Executive Officer SHCC Dr Minhaj Qidwai chaired a meeting to review standards of labs. The meeting was also attended by Dr Rumina Hasan, Dr Afia Zafar, Dr Izhar Hussain, Dr Erum Khan, Prof Naila Tariq and Dr Farhan Essa.

The SHCC team comprised Director Clinical Governance and Training, Director Complaint and Director Anti-quackery SHCC.

In the meeting. initial committee was formed for the purpose. In the meeting, it was discussed how to form basic structure for design and implementation of regulatory framework for setting Laboratory Standards.

The vision and mission was decided under which committee will work and decide its strategic frame work. It was also decided in the meeting that the pilot study will be conducted in Larkana and Karachi, and after developing and implementing improved system, it will be introduced in all cities.
