Shifting of wheat to Karachi ordered

LARKANA:Provincial Food Secretary Laique Ahmed has stressed upon the Food Department officers to expedite shifting of wheat from Larkana to Karachi so that it could be used in need in the city.

He was presiding over a meeting of his department officials at Committee Room of Commissioner’s office. He directed them to start shifting work within two days and submit daily progress report to their respective deputy commissioners. Deputy Director, Food, Larkana Region, briefed the participants that allocation of the wheat from Larkana Division was 1,33,000 tons out of which 20,910.004 tons had already been lifted for Karachi whereas the balance of 1,12,098.996 tons would soon be transported.

Giving details, he said that from Larkana district, 37000 tons had been allocated out of which 1208.922 had been sent and 35791.078 tons would be sent. He said from Kambar-Shahdadkot district, 11000 tons had been allocated out of which 6043.608 tons had been sent and 4956.392 tons would be sent.

From Shikarpur district, he said, 30,000 tons have been allocated out of which 7340.533 tons have been sent and 22659.467 tons would soon be sent.

From Jacobabad, 25000 tons have been allocated out of which 6307.941 tons have been sent and 18692.059 will be sent while 30,000 tons have been allocated from Kashmore which will also be transported to Karachi soon.

Commissioner, Larkana Division, Saleem Raza Khuhro directed all the revenue officers under his command to extend full support to the food department in sending wheat to Karachi.

Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners of all five districts of Larkana Division, food department officials and transporters participated in the meeting that include Munwar Ali Mithani, Ghazanfar Qadri, Imdad Ali Abro and Ameer Ali Abro.
