Shoro assigned to tackle Hyderabad rain situation

KARACHI: In the wake of current spell of monsoon rains and expected cyclone, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Thursday assigned the duties of rain emergency to Sindh Minister for Irrigation Department Jam Khan Shoro to monitor overall activities at Hyderabad district.

In this regard, Shoro issued directives to the concerned district administration of Hyderabad to be alert and vigilant during rain emergency duties and all necessary arrangements should be made to tackle any untoward situation during heavy down pours. He also strictly directed all officers of the district that they should complete all arrangements by staying in close laison with each other in the field.

Shoro directed them that cleaning of drains should also be completed before the heavy rains of monsoon and the availability of all machinery should also be ensured during rain emergency. He further directed them that the provision of standby generators should also be ensured in case of load-shedding so that the activities of draining out the rain water would be carried out without any disturbance.
