Sindh govt issues job offer to 81 special persons, report submitted to SHC

Karachi: In connection with a constitutional petition filed by Justice Helpline President Nadeem A Shaikh seeking implementation of job quota for special persons, Advocate General Sindh and Secretary Services Sindh here Thursday filed a report with the Sindh High Court (SHC) that government job offer letters have already been given to 81 blind and special persons.

As per details, during last hearing of August 26, a two-member bench headed by Justice Nadeem Akhtar had summoned chief secretary Sindh in personal capacity. In the light of the directives of the court, the Sindh government submitted a list of 81 special persons who have been given government job offer letters on quota of disabled persons.

Advocate Nadeem A Shaikh submitted before the honorable court that blind and special persons were facing a lot of problems in finding jobs. He said in a landmark judgment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed bench the special persons’ quota was provided complete protection.

Justice Nadeem Akhtar observed that this case has been pending for last two years and the court directives are not being implemented. The bench ordered the government side to present appointment letters of 81 persons on November 10.

Senior officers and advocate general Hakim Sheikh were also present. On the occasion, senior advocate Shua-un-Nabi, head of organization of blind people Anwar Masih, S Micheal Advocate and Haris Amin Bhatti were also present.

Separately, Sindh High Court Bar Association president Ziaul Haq Makhdoom, Secretary Abdul Haseeb Jamali so also met with the special persons and congratulated the legal team of the Justice Helpline, and special persons for receiving job offer letters, says a JHL release.
