SPC stages rally against occupation of Sindh’s islands

LARKANA: Members of Sindh Progressive Committee took out a large rally from Al-Murtaza Tower here on Sunday against presidential ordinance about occupation of Sindh’s coastal islands.

Activists of Jeay Sindh Mahaz, PPP-SB, Awami Workers Party, Communist Party and other political and nationalist parties took part in the rally. The participants, holding their party flags in their hands and shouting slogans in favour of their just demand, marching through various major roads and culminated at Jinnah Bagh.

The participants included Syed Lal Shah, Noor Solangi, Habib Patujo, Asar Imam, Gulab Pirzado, Dur Muhammad Buriro, Sajan Chandio, Nawab Tunio and others. They also held a protest demonstration.

They said while talking to media persons that the federal government was forcibly occupying illegally and immorally Sindh’s precious coastal islands which we consider as unconstitutional and a terrorist act. They said: “We are ready to sacrifice our lives if the Center does not withdraw its unlawful ordinance.”

They said the land of Sindh is just like history and geography for them since centuries and any forcible encroachment on its property will never be tolerated and will be resisted through various legal means.
