Sports: Cricket: Saima Builders win in cricket tourney

Karachi:Fine all-round performance by Tahir Khan and superb batting by former Pakistan skipper Misbah ul Haq helped Saima Builders record 11-runs win against Karbala Heros in 24th Dr. MA Shah Night Trophy here at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium on Thursday night.

Saima Builders batted first in the match and put on board 162-7 in 20 overs. Muhammad Ikhlaq batted well for the side scoring 48 runs off 37 balls. Later Misbah played an aggressive inning scoring 43 runs off just 29 balls including three boundaries and as many sixes. Tahir contributed 24 runs off 16 balls. Former international cricketer Imran Nazir failed to perform and scored only a single run. Waseem Qureshi and Usman Maya picked two wickets each.

In reply, Karbala Heros scored 151-9 in 20 overs. Opener Sami-Ur-Rehman played whirlwind inning of 48 runs off just 17 balls with the help of two boundaries and six sixes. Asad Afridi made 39 runs. Tahir Khan bowled brilliantly and took three wickets for 14 runs while Shujahat Azeem also took three wickets for 24 runs.
