KARACHI:Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Malir on Friday suspended three cops of Quaidabad police station in the city on charge of torturing a citizen. The suspended cops included head constable Safdar, constable, Fazal Khaliq and Noman.
According to a spokesperson of Sindh police, SSP Malir himself is conducting an inquiry against the involved cops who were accused of torturing a youth. “If allegations are proven then strict legal action will be taken against the involved cops.”
Earlier, a video footage of a boy, Sagar, being tortured brutally by police went viral on social media. The victim alleged that police forcefully picked him up on Tuesday and released him after torturing brutally and taking Rs55000 as bribe.
