Three miners dead in Duki coalmine collapse

Quetta:Three miners died in a coalmine mishap at Duki on Monday.

As per details, accumulated gas exploded in a coalmine at District Duki, which collapsed. As a result, three miners died and others 19 miners became unconscious.

According to SHO Ibrar Hussain, one side of coal mine collapsed due to explosion and four miners came under debris. The depth of coal mine was 1700 feet and majority of miners working there belonged to Afghanistan.

The victims included two real brothers and their uncle.

After a lapse of 24 hours of the incident, the rescue team of Mines and Minerals Development Department could not reach the site; however, one Inspector and one clerk of the said Department remained present at the site.

After the incident, local mine workers started rescue operation. Two miners Abdul Ghani son of Speen, caste Samalzai resident of Zabul Afghanistan and Muhammad Umer son of Abdul Shakoor caste Samalzai resident of Zabul Afghanistan, who were busy in rescue operation, also died.

However, four miners were trapped miners, and the dead body of one of them, Abdul Manan, son of Muhammad Essa, caste Malakhail resident of Killi Zaman was recovered.

19 other miners became unconscious in the explosion. Among the unconscious included Dilbar son of Syed Hussain, Qudratullah son of Haider, Muhammad Wali son of Abdul Rauf, Sarwar Ghulam Siddique, Shair Muhammad son Khan Muhammad, Noorani son of Abdul Shafey, Muslim, Nasrullah son of Abdul Ghaffar, Muhammad Raheem son of Muhammad Fazal, Muhammad Alam son of Qabil, Abdul Ghaffar son of Taj Muhammad, Abdul Malik son of Abdul Raziq, Safiullah son of Zakarya and Alizai son of Muhammad Siddique.

The bodies and injured miners were shifted to Civil Hospital Duki.

Frontier Corps Balochistan, Levies and volunteers were taking part in rescue operation.

It is pertinent to mention that during the year 2018, as many as 26 miners died while 84 injured in different accidents in coalmines at Duki. During the first 21 days of 2019, 17 coal miners have already in different incidents.
