Two foreigner alpinists go missing on Nanga Parbat

GILGIT: Two members of expedition foreigners groups, who were on an expedition to scale the Nanga Parbat have gone missing on Friday.

According to sources, two-member of expedition team comprising Polish mountaineer Tomek Mackiewicz and Frenchwoman Elisabeth Revol, appears to have gone missing while trying to climb Nanga Parbat.

The climbers left from the base camp of Nanga Parbat in Gilgit-Baltistan, on 8th Jan 2018.

Sources said that the mountaineers had reached an altitude of 7,300 meters and wanted to reach the summit on Thursday. They said that people at the base camp were much concerned about the safety of the missing climbers.

Authorities requested to Army Aviation to provide a helicopter to begin the rescue operation to trace the missing climbers.
