Update: Wanted criminal among 10 arrested

KARACHI:Sindh Rangers on Tuesday claimed to have arrested 10 criminals, including a wanted suspect, along with his two accomplices, during raids in different areas of the metropolis.

According to rangers’ spokesman, the paramilitary forces carried a raid in Korangi area and apprehended a wanted criminal, Javed Akhtar, along with his two accomplices, Irfan Pathan and Abdul Sattar.

It further stated that the accused, Javed Akhtar, had been admitted in the JPMC under police custody, from where he fled after snatching a police weapon with the help of his wife, Anila on 10th January 2018.

The rangers also recovered a 99-mm pistol, a 30-bore pistol, a snatched SMG, three hand grenades, different types of 43 rounds, six mobile phones, 11 SIM cards, seven memory cards, four USBs and a car from their possession.

Separately, during crackdown on outlaws, the rangers detained two Lyari gangsters, four street criminals and a drug peddler from Kalakot, Chakiwara, Memon Goth, Eidgah and Defence areas.

The rangers also claimed to have recovered illegal weapons, drugs and contrabands form the arrested accused.

They were handed over to police for further legal action.
