VCs team meet Punjab CM

LAHORE: A vice-chancellors delegation comprising of Prof. Dr Niaz Akhtar Punjab University, Prof. Dr Muhammad Saleem Azhar University of Sargodha, Prof. Dr Abdul Sattar Shakir PTUT Lahore, Dr Mahmood Saleem Mir Chakar Khan Rind University and Dr Naveed A Chaudhary Emerson University Multan called on Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.

Higher Education Minister Raja Yasir Humayun, SACM Hasaan Khawar, secretaries of higher education and finance departments, registrars of Punjab University and UET Taxila were also present. The CM announced to give, in principle, approval to disparity allowance for teachers and employees of universities and assured to resolve universities’ problems. The finance department has been given instructions about allowance while other matters will also be streamlined; he assured and added that work was being done on the smart university project.

The founding of a university in every district was a mission of the government, he said. Meanwhile, Seerat Chairs have also been established in six universities and its scope would be further expanded, he announced. The government would extend full support to you to promote higher education in the province, the CM concluded.
