KARACHI: Rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places of country’s areas including Malakand, Hazara divisions and at isolated places in Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Quetta, Zhob divisions, Islamabad, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, dense foggy conditions are likely to prevail over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. However, light rain-thunderstorm occurred at Quetta division. Today’s lowest minimum temperatures are as: Skardu -10°C, Astore, Gupis -08°C, Gilgit -07°C, Hunza -06°C, Kalat, and Bagrote -05°C. A shallow westerly wave is present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during 24 to 36 hours.
In Sindh, cold and dry weather with misty/foggy morning is likely to prevail over upper & central Sindh. Whereas cool/cold with hazy/misty morning in lower Sindh. In Balochistan, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places of Sherani, Zhob, Musakhel, Qilla Saifullah, Loralai, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah and Ziarat districts.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the region. However, rain-thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Battagram, Haripur, Torghar, Chitral, Malakand, Upper & Lower Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla districts and FATA( Bajour and Kurram agencies), while at isolated places in Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, D I Khan, Tank districts and FATA (Khyber, Mohmand, Orakzai, North & South Waziristan agencies).
In Punjab and Kashmir, mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the Punjab province. However, rain-thunderstorm (with light snowfall over the hills) is expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin and Gujrat districts. Dense Foggy conditions are likely to occur over plain areas of Punjab province during night and morning hours.
