Srinagar, August 03, 2021 (PPI-OT):In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders and organizations while supporting the 10-day protest calendar given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference have said that August 2019 is the darkest day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when India brazenly robbed Kashmiris of their political and democratic rights.
Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Dar, Mahaz-e-Azadi President Muhammad Iqbal Mir and Tehreeq-e-Istiqlal Chairman Ghulam Nabi Wasim in a joint statement in Srinagar said that the day reminded Kashmiris of how New Delhi in arrogance of power violated all international laws and commitments made to the Kashmiris by their forefathers. “This day opened doors for outsiders to be the citizens of Kashmir with the sinister design of changing the Muslim majority character of the territory.”
Tehreek-e-Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmad Sidiqui said that 5th of August marks the beginning of new phase of resistance against the India’s illegal occupation. Terming that Jammu Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute, which is guided by more than a dozen UN resolutions of which both India and Pakistan are signatory.”New Delhi through its ugly colonial methods is trying to portray before the world community that Kashmiris have been integrated and they have accepted this but the fact is that not only International community even New Delhi itself is aware of the reality.”
People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman Engineer Hilal Ahmad War termed the action of August 5, 2019 by Indian government as unacceptable, illegal, unconstitutional and immoral. “On August 5, 2019 Modi hoodwinked the global community by using its parliament to pass a so called legislation to scrap the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. This action was aimed at changing the demography of Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir”, said Engineer Hilal.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Kashmiris living on both sides of the Line of Control, in Pakistan, Europe and elsewhere will hold rallies and organize protests on August 5 to condemn India’s illegal actions in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Spokesman Shafiq-ur-Rehman while castigating the BJP government for its aggressive designs said that the day would go down in the Kashmir’s history as the darkest day. He said that 5th August move was an atrocious assault on Kashmiris’ national identity, which pushed the territory into a quagmire of uncertainty, lawlessness and perpetual violence that continue to wreak havoc. Terming it as yet another step in the India’s history of colonizing Kashmir, the spokesman said that the colonization of Kashmir has since long been a holy grail dream for the Hindu supremacist groups who believe in Savarkar’s communal ideology. The party extended full support to the APHC’s call for a strike.
