PESHAWAR:At least 10 people died and dozens of others sustained injuries as heavy rain and windstorm hit KP and Punjab on Saturday. According to rescuers, ten people died in rain-related incidents in the KP capital Peshawar. More than two dozen sustained injuries, the Rescue 1122 DG said, adding that women and children are among the victims.

The Rescue 1122 DG said relief operations are going on in Kirk, Bannu and Lucky Marwat, Director General Rescue 1122. In Gujranwala district of Punjab, 10 people sustained injuries, local rescue officials said. Three workers were injured as a factory shed fell on Aimanabad Road.

Roof collapses left seven people injured, the rescuers added. The rain exposed the costly sewer system in Gujrat. Reportedly, Nowshera Virkan, Wazirabad and adjacent areas too received heavy rain. Earlier in the ongoing week, rain-related incidents claimed three lives in Lahore and parts of Punjab.
