Thatta:Ten picnickers drowned in Keenjhar lake near Thatta on Monday. However, five of them have been saved.
According to rescue sources, a group of 10 people, including women and children, were holding a picnic party at Keenjhar Lake. As they started travelling on a boat in the lake in district Thatta, they drowned in deep waters. However, people present there saved and recovered five of them. Rescue teams rushed to the scene on information and started search for five other drowned people. Mourning atmosphere was prevalent at the lake.
According to rescue sources, a group of over 12 people, including women and children, hailing from Karachi were holding a picnic party at Keenjhar Lake. As they started travelling on a boat in the lake, they drowned in deep waters. However, people present there saved five of them, while six others, including women and children, died. Their bodies have been recovered by rescue teams.
Rescue teams were searching for other drowned people. A mourning atmosphere prevailed in the area after the incident. Eight picnickers, including women and children, died while five of them were saved after their boat capsized in Keenjhar lake near Thatta on Monday.
