ROHRI: At least 13 people were killed and 32 injured when a coach overturned on the National Highway in Kalar Goth near Rohri on Thursday morning.


The coach was on its way to Karachi from Multan when it overturned near Rohri. As a result, 13 people were killed and 32 others injured. Villagers and police rushed to the scene took part in the rescue operation. Among the dead were Nadeem Akhtar, Allah Dito Dogar, Riyaz, Ajmal, Ghulam Abbas.


The deceased and injured were shifted to Talukal Hospital Rohri, District Hospital Sukkur and Panu Aqil Tehsil Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. The condition of some injured were stated to be serious,


The victims belonged to Multan region of Punjab. There was a mourning atmosphere at the site of the incident, hospitals and houses of victim families. An emergency was declared in all hospitals in Rohri, Pano Aqil and Sukkur after the accident. Rescue officials said that the death toll could rise further as several injured remained in critical condition. The cause of the incident is said to negligence by the driver.
