14 FC men killed, 12 injured in terrorists attack

February 1, 2012

QUETTA: Fourteen troops of Frontier Corps were killed and 12 injured in terrorists
attack on FC check posts in Margat area Tuesday, FC Spokesman said here Wednesday.

Spokesman said eight check posts have been established for security of Margat and Pir Ismail Ziarat Coal Mines over an area of 26 Km. Terrorists had abducted four officials of PMDC. The area is about 80 Km from Quetta near Mach. Terrorists opened fire with light and heavy weapons on four check posts last afternoon. Officials present on the posts returned the fire. Reinforcement was dispatched from Marget. It was attacked with remote control bomb. Firing continued in most difficult mountainous terrain for five hours in which 15 FC personnel were killed and 12 sustained minor injuries. In retaliatory firing several terrorists were killed, Spokesman added.

There are clear indications orders were issued and action was monitored by Herbiar Marri who is on political asylum in Europe. We strongly condemn this and take action at every level against this. All the troops carried out action from their posts. We are proud of our martyrs who laid their lives for peace and security of people in the area. FC is ready for every sacrifice for establishing peace in Baluchistan.

Inspector General Frontier corps Baluchistan Major General Obedullah Khan said that FC would take every step for peace in the province. A handful of terrorists working on anti state elements would not be allowed to foil peace process. Strict response would be given of this dirty act of terrorists and they would be taken to task and peace in Baluchistan would be maintained at all costs.
