In a decisive move to curb criminal activities, Islamabad police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested arrested 19 individuals in the last 24 hours from several precincts.

The police said the arrests included individuals involved in drug trafficking and illegal weapon possession. Teams from the Secretariat, Shalimar, Golra, Sumbal, Noon, Sihala, Nilore, and Bhara Kahu police stations were involved in the operation. They confiscated 7,090 grams of heroin, 89 grams of hashish, 52 bottles of liquor, and four pistols with ammunition from the suspects.

Moreover, the police’s special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders led to the detainment of four additional criminals. Cases have been filed against those apprehended, and investigations are in progress.

Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized that the Islamabad Police is intensifying its efforts to maintain peace in the capital, demonstrating a strong commitment to safeguarding the community.

Police officials urged residents to report suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar15.” This collaboration between the public and law enforcement is vital in the fight against crime.
