19 more Coronavirus cases surface in Sindh

KARACHI: Sindh Health Department has confirmed 19 new Coronavirus in Sindh province during last 24 hours, taking the repotted cases’ toll to 440 in the province.

Media Coordinator to the Health Minister Meeran Yousuf told PPI that a total 440 Coronavirus patients were detected throughout the Sindh province till date; out of them 265 were from Taftan in Sukkur, 164 from Karachi, seven who returned from Iran and are now in Larkana, three in Hyderabad and on in Dadu.

She further informed that 14 people have recovered from this viral disease in Sindh province while 151 are still under treatment in Karachi. She further informed 114 cases were locally transmitted out of total 156 Karachi cases. So far 4,662 tests have been performed in Sindh and out of 440 were tested positive.

In Pakistan a total 1,298 coronavirus cases have been reported all over the country till date: 440 in Sindh, 419 in Punjab, 176 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 131 in Balochistan 103 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 27 in Islamabad, and two in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

A total nine deaths due to the coronavirus have also been recorded in the country: three in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three in Punjab, one each in Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan, according to government data.

More than 25,528 deaths have been recorded globally, more than 15,500 of which are in Europe since the virus first emerged in December. More than 543,418 declared virus cases have been registered in 199 countries and territories of which at least 268,191 are in Europe, the worst-hit continent.
