Rs1bn allocated to boost tourism sector: CM Kamal

Kund Malir:Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal has said the incumbent provincial government had allocated one billion rupees to boost tourism sector.   This he said after inauguration of six different link roads at the estimated cost of Rs 42.542 million in Kund Malir on Sunday.   He said the uplift of tourism sector would provide people of the area with new opportunities of employment and livelihood.   He said construction of roads had linked Kund Malir and Liari with main coastal highway. He said historical projects were being initiated at coastal sites.

Drugs amounting to Rs 17bn seized in Pasni

PASNI:Pakistan Coast Guards and Pak Army on Sunday claimed to have seized drugs amounting to Rs 17 billion in a joint operation conducted in Pasni area of Balochistan on Sunday.   A spokesman of Pakistan Coast Guards said that 101 kilogram crystal and 2700 kilogram hashish was recovered in the mountainous terrain of Shadi Core area of Pasni in a joint operation conducted by Pakistan Coast Guard and Pak Army.   The spokesman added that seized drugs, worth Rs 17.275 billion in international market, were to be smuggled abroad, however, timely action of the forces foiled the bid of smuggling.

MNA Nusrat optimistic of PTI victory in GB polls

KARACHI:The Member of National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Nusrat Wahid, said on Sunday that a recent survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan had showed that PTI would win upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) being held today, November 15.   MNA Nusrat revealed that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) had lost their credibility and worth because of corruption while the PTI was confident of winning GB elections through its performance and practical works during the last two and half years which was also being acknowledged by the GB residents.   She spoke to a delegation of journalists that PML-N could never get success and now the party would have to face historical defeat in getting its objectives. KU MA exam forms could be submitted till Nov 27

KARACHI:The Controller of Examinations University of Karachi Dr Syed Zafar Hussain has announced that external students of MA and double MA or improvement of division could submit their examination forms for annual examinations 2019 till November 27, 2020.   The candidates of MA Previous and Final could submit examination forms along with the relevant documents and paid fee voucher of Rs4,650 at the counter No-1, External Unit Silver Jubilee Gate from 9am till 1pm.   The KU controller of examination Dr Syed Zafar said that those candidates, who were registered in 2013 or earlier and want to appear in the annual exams, could appear by paying Rs5,000 extra charges in addition to their examination fee.

Covid claims nine more lives in Sindh

KARACHI:Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that nine more Covid-19 patients died overnight, lifting the death toll to 2,747 while 942 new cases emerged when 11,353 tests were conducted.   In a statement issued from CM House, he said, “Nine more patients died last night, lifting the death toll to 2,747 that constituted 1.8 percent death rate.” He said that 11,353 samples were tested which diagnosed 942 cases that established 8.3 percent detection rate which was the highest in the current wave of the deadly virus.   He further stated that so far, 1,808,831 tests had been conducted which diagnosed 155,680 cases, of them 92 percent or 142,707 patients had recovered, including 290 over night.   The CM said that currently, 10,226 patients were unde...
