NCOC launches Covid vaccine for kids from 5 to 11 years

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) Wednesday announced to launch COVID-19 vaccines for kids in the age group between 5 to 11 years from Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. NCOC took the decision keeping in view the surge in cases in recent weeks. NCOC said that these vaccines will be administered in collaboration with t USAID and US. In the first phase, NCOC will administer vaccines in four cities in Punjab that have the most number of cases. ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy Ship ZULFIQUAR visited Dubai, UAE during deployment on Regional Maritime Security Patrol. Punjab upgrades Gujrat district to division

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Wednesday upgraded Gujrat district to division. The headquarters of the Gujarat division is made at Gujrat district and in the other 2 districts including Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad. Punjab Governor Baligh Ur Rehman has given approval and issued the notification. It merits mention here that Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi s native region is Gujrat and he is elected member of Punjab Assembly from PP-30 (Gujrat-III).

MPA Haleem arrested after court rejects bail plea

KARACHI: The Anti-Encroachment Tribunal (AET) detained Haleem Adil Sheikh, the Opposition Leader in the Sindh Assembly, after a Karachi court Wednesday rejected his bail plea in a land grabbing case. "Halim Adil Sheikh is accused of grabbing state land, but he is not joining the investigations. Despite 12 notices, he did not come to record his statement,” the AET officials said. The court rejected the bail plea of Haleem Adil Sheikh after listening to the arguments presented by the counsel of the anti-encroachment authorities.

Medical report confirms torture on female student

FAISALABAD: A medical report Wednesday confirmed torture on female medical student Khadija who was assaulted for refusing a marriage proposal of Sheikh family in Faisalabad. The latest reports say that the torture marks were found on multiple parts of the body along with injuries on face, eyes, elbows and hands. The report suggest that her eyebrows and head have also been shaved forcefully. The Punjab police arrested at least six people, including a woman, who were involved in assaulting and insulting the medical student. According to the a report, the by-election in NA-196 Jacobabad will be held on October 02, 2022, and nomination papers will be submitted from August 25 to August 27.
