Pak army rescue efforts under way in flood-hit areas of Balochistan, Punjab

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan army rescue and relief efforts are underway in various flood-hit areas of Balochistan and Punjab, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Thursday. Army troops are busy in relief activities in DG Khan, Rajanpur, NaseerAbad and Lasbela. The affected population and their belongings are being shifted to safer places. Army medical teams are providing medical care to affected people. At least 11 people died and many sustained critical injuries in different flood related incidents in Balochistan. PPP leader urges release of funds to QMC

QUETTA: Nisar Yadgar Sangzai, provincial leader, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Balochistan, Thursday demanded of the authorities to release funds to Quetta Metropolitan Corporation so that salaries of the permanent and casual employees of QMC could be paid. In a statement issued, he said that regular employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation from grade-1 to grade-15 as well as casual employees of QMC and pensioners of QMC have been deprived of their monthly salaries and pensions for the last three months. KARACHI: An important meeting regarding the situation after the recent rains was held at Sindh Secretariat under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Muhammad Sohail Rajput at Sindh Secretariat on Thursday.
