UAE President assures all-out support for flood victims in Pakistan

Islamabad, September 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the UAE has started delivering the first tranche of relief good worth fifty million dollars for the flood victims in Pakistan. In his tweets on Thursday, he said the UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a telephonic conversation with him on Wednesday night assured the UAE will continue to help the flood affectees. The Prime Minister recalled that he was set to visit the UAE on September 3 on the invitation of the UAE President. Prime Minister orders restoration of flood-hit road infrastructure at earliest

Islamabad, September 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to rehabilitate the flood-hit roads and communications infrastructure at the earliest and asked the Power Division to submit a report on work for power supply restoration. He was chairing an urgent meeting to review work on the rehabilitation of flood-damaged power and roads infrastructure in Islamabad. International community helping flood affected people of Pakistan: Miftah

Talking to a private TV channel, he expressed the hope that International Monitory Fund might provide some relief to Pakistan in the wake of floods. He said that it is imperative for us to fulfil the agreements made with the IMF. Miftah Ismail said the businessmen of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and China are showing interest in investing in Pakistan. All grid stations, feeders in 13 districts of Sindh made functional: Dastagir

Islamabad, September 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Minister for Power Khurram Dastagir Khan says all grid stations and feeders in thirteen districts of Sindh have been made functional and dewatering equipment is also operational in urban areas within the limits of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company. In a statement, he said HESCO is providing uninterrupted electricity for dewatering and to facilitate the citizens. The Minister said sixty five percent of damaged transformers have been repaired and rest will be fixed soon. He said power supply in Balochistan, except southern districts of Jaffarabad and Nasirabad, is uninterruptedly continuing. Another relief goods flight from Turkiye lands at Karachi airport

Islamabad, September 01, 2022 (PPI-OT):Another flight from Turkiye carrying relief goods for the flood-stricken people of Pakistan landed at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, in continuation of humanitarian assistance from the brotherly country. Turkish Consul General Cemal Sangu along with representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the national Disaster Management Authority welcomed the Turkish aircraft. So far, seven relief flights from Turkiye have landed in Pakistan carrying relief goods for flood affected people.
