Prime Minister expresses gratitude to UAE for continued support to flood victims

Islamabad, September 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to the government of United Arab Emirates for its continued support to the Pakistani flood victims, including establishment of humanitarian corridor between the two countries. In a tweet, he also thanked the UAE Red Crescent for launching donation campaign to support the flood relief efforts in Pakistan. The Prime minister’s tweet came after two more relief flights from the UAE arrived at Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi. In total, eighteen flights from the UAE have landed in Pakistan carrying food, medical supplies, tents and other relief items. Government taking steps for rehabilitation of flood affectees: Prime Minister

Islamabad, September 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the government is taking steps for rehabilitation of the flood affectees in coordination with all the relevant departments. He was addressing a ceremony after reviewing rehabilitation work of the flood-hit Saggu Bridge in Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday. He said the government has increased the compensation amount from twenty-eight billion to seventy-billion rupees. Shehbaz Sharif said so far, the government has transparently distributed twenty billion rupees through Benazir Income Support Program. Rescue, Relief activities continuing in flood-affected areas of country

Islamabad, September 07, 2022 (PPI-OT):Rescue and Relief activities are continuing in the flood-affected areas of the country. According to the details shared by National Flood Response and Coordination center, Pakistan Army has so far distributed 4377.9 tons of food, 887 tons of sustenance items and over 2.5 million medicine items amongst the flood victims. More than ninety eight thousand patients have been treated in the 250 medical camps. Pakistan Army has established 147 relief camps in Sindh, South Punjab and Balochistan. Twenty helicopter sorties evacuated 217 stranded individuals and delivered thirty tons of relief items to the flood affectees during the last twenty four hours.
